This year we're introducing something new and exciting called Bulldog Cards. Bulldog Cards are our way of recognizing and rewarding all the amazing things you do every day to make our school a great place to be. It replaces both the old cards from last year and Bulldog Bucks.
So, how does it work?
Each of you will get a Bulldog Card from your 8th-period teacher. There are six spots for stamps on your card. As you move through the school day, any teacher might notice you demonstrating one of our school-wide positive behaviors. When they do, they'll give you a stamp on your card.
Once your Bulldog Card is full with six stamps, you can turn it in for a reward. For example, one full card could get you a snack like a bag of chips. If you save up multiple cards, you can get even bigger and better rewards! When you fill up a card, you can ask any teacher for a new card. The Bulldog Snack Shack is where you will turn in your full Bulldog Cards and it will be open at various times throughout the week.
The positive behaviors we are looking for are based on our new acronym, Nyssa S.T.R.O.N.G. Each letter stands for a different behavior.
· S is for Support: We want to see you supporting your fellow students and teachers.
· T is for Trust: We want you to be a trustworthy person that others can count on.
· R is for Respect: We want you to show respect for yourself, others, and our school.
· O is for Open: We want you to be open to new ideas and new people.
· N is for Nurture: We want you to care for and encourage our school community.
· G is for Grit: We want you to show grit and perseverance, especially when things get tough.
Bulldog Cards are all about celebrating you and all the great things you do. So let's all work together to be Nyssa STRONG this year! I can't wait to see your cards fill up.
