Today Mrs. Olsons math class celebrated Valentine’s Day by analyzing the data sets found in a box of Sweethearts. They graphed and then found measures of central tendency and distribution. Elementary -- All of the after school program groups are cancelled for today, Thursday, February 13th. All students will come home at 3:30 using their normal mode of getting home. If you have any questions please call the elementary school. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, staff, and families who made our Family STEM Night a success! It was amazing to see students and adults engaged in fun, hands-on learning. Elementary -- Parent(s)/Guardian(s), This year Valentine's Day falls on Friday, Feb. 14th. To preserve your child's academic learning time we are going to ask that NO DELIVERIES (flowers, stuffed animals, balloons, etc.) be delivered to the students on Thursday. Teachers may choose to do a Valentine's Party but are asked to not do them before 2:00 pm. Again we are trying to preserve as much academic learning time for our students as possible. This will cause a 30 minute delay for students to get home on bus route #8. Our Lego Robotics Teams competed in the state competition on Saturday in Hillsboro. One team received the Breakthrough Award. This award celebrates a team that made significant progress in their confidence and capability in both the Robot Games and Innovation Project and are a shining example of excellent Core Values. Elementary -- We had a lockdown drill at 9:30 AM. Again this was just a drill and all students and staff did a great job practicing lockdown procedures. We will be having a Fire Drill this afternoon at 1:30 pm. Again these were both drills to meet our monthly practice obligations.
